Audiostatic Electrostatics have fascinated audiophiles and esthetes alike for years with their design and their way of music reproduction. Ben Peters designed and built the first Audiostatic loudspeakers in Holland back in the early sixties. Over the years, incredible progress has been achieved, which also resulted in a number of registered patents for proprietary design solutions.

Lovers of an authentic sound reproduction, as, for instance, musicians, who know the sound of their instruments thoroughly, appreciate the uniquely authentic sound reproduction of the Audiostatic DCI electrostatics without any reservation. You can hear every note, every detail and sense every emotion. Deep bass can be properly felt. Spatial positioning is impressively natural. Critical passages played by the strings, woodwinds and the vocals are reproduced without a trace of hardness or coloration. Dynamic demands, from a grand piano for example, will be met absolutely distortion-free. These characteristics, together with the bi-directional radiation of the electrostatic panel, are a guarantee of hours and hours of listening without experiencing fatigue. Almost as if there was no loudspeaker at all.

impressive with its development - DCI.
Audiostatic DCI stands for Direct Coupled Interface which means that the music (audio) signal has been routed from the amplifier into the step-up audio transformers and the full range electrostatic panel without any filtering components, such as capacitors or coils, standing in the way.

The implementation of the DCI technology became only possible after the development of a new membrane element and a resonance-free 3-layer MDF frame structure. The new DCI frame structur is visibly smaller, but considerably stronger and more rigid. Because of the almost complete absence of inertia, the extremely light membrane is capable of easily executing all the movements induced by the amplifier and therefore of reproducing a full frequence range.

Audiostatic Full Range Electrostatics with DCI technology have much improved impulse handling ability, more dynamics, an extended frequency range with more deep bass, as well as brilliant soundstaging thanks to a better dispersion pattern. Especially in the areas of dynamics, spatial positioning, bass and maximum sound pressure, the DCI technology has redefined electrostatics. Music is inimitably enjoyed through those slim, elegant, transparent and beautiful objects.


Audiostatic DCI Full Range Electrostatics can be installed in rooms from a size of 15 m² (160 sq foot) on. Even in a difficult acoustical environment, Audiostatic DCI will sound noticeably better than a dynamic loudspeaker. An acoustically perfect positioning of the electrostatics can be easily determined as moving them results in clearly audible changes. A minimal distance of approx. 0,7 m (2,2 foot) from the back walls and approx. 0,2 m (2/3 foot) from the side walls is all that is required. In larger rooms an additional Audiostatic per channel can be used to function as a woofer. Good quality amplifiers with 60 Watts per channel or more are required and recommended for best sonic results. Naturally, we would suggest that your Audiostatic DCI Full Range Electrostatics are partnered exclusively with amplifiers of a similar level of quality and ability to convey music in a complete and natural way.


Quality control and durability
An intelligent electronics guarantees constant quality and durability of the membrane elements and protects the system in critical areas from overload, for example, if an amplifier should be oscillating. When overload occurs the loudness will be reduced - especially in the high frequency range - and a LED-indicator changes its colour.

Audiostatic very precisely corrects the impedance and the phase to improve the spatial positioning and other sound details. The support to any less stable amplifier, for example older amplifiers or tube amplifiers with the tendency to oscillate, is also very important.

The automatic ON-OFF activation of high voltage avoids, for the most part, the attraction of dust onto the membrane.

With its current modells, Audiostatic has realized a very servicefriendly concept: all components can be replaced in a few minutes time and various older models can be upgraded to the current technology. Thanks to the philosophy of Audiostatic, music can be truly enjoyed for many years.


Optional
Our newly developed streaming wings, called Fin, enhance the efficiency, the linkage to and the soundstaging in the room, and optimize the frequency graph. The resonances in the deep frequency range can often be greatly reduced. The Fins can be easily mounted to the rearside of all Audiostatic DCI Full Range Electrostatics.

Identical DCI membrane panels, step-up transformers and prints are employed in Wing and Wing A.
The audible differences between the two models can be attributed to the differing characteristics of the cases and the varying numbers of step-up transformers used.
